Monero Outreach would like to promote adoption of XRM in Venezuela
The community seemed interested in this, too
The question posted by a user of the popular social platform Reddit, regarding the existence of groups or activists that are spreading mass adoption of Monero (XRM) in Venezuela, has sparked the curiosity of others in this subject. As a result, some members of this community have expressed their interest in seeing an increase in adoption of this privacy-focused crypto asset.
User u/fancyrolling created a post in the official subreddit of Monero, asking whether there was any effort to promote mainstreaming of the XRM in that country, pointing that the low transaction fees seen in this coin rather than Bitcoin, in addition to the privacy it provides, could make this coin more attractive to the Venezuelan community, rather than other cryptos.
In response to this, an organizer of the Monero Outreach commented that they would like to lend a hand to anyone who actually take the role of leading this adoption.
“Monero Outreach would want to help whoever takes this on. We’re already translating all of our Outreach material into Spanish and working on French, Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, etc. We were hoping a pool might step up and take on the task of operating in Venezuela to bring more awareness to Monero and its egalitarian mining,” he said.
Dash could see yet another competitor
As stated by the same Redditor, Venezuela is one of the best markets to test out mass adoption of any cryptocurrency, due to its distorted economy and the quick, constant depreciation of its local currency, the Bolivar (VES).
This situation has also led Venezuelan to become one of the most important cryptocurrency trading group worldwide – hence the interest by several crypto projects in promoting their coin to become No. 1 digital asset for these people. One of them is Dash (DASH).
This coin has become one of the most used crypto assets in this country, due to the speed and seamless transaction services it offers for all Venezuelans, which are especially useful due to the constant issues they have not only with the local currency mentioned above, but also with the traditional Point of Sale, because of the delay in transferring funds this way.
Nevertheless, if the Monero community is willing to accept the challenge, they will have to face the expansion of this and other major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum – both of them have their fair share of supporters in this country. Since the XRM has the advantage of being privacy-focused, thou, it can be a very appealing cryptocurrency for Venezuelans, who also have to deal with the rampaging insecurity and corruption of public officers and other governmental agents.
