CoinGate, the Lithuania-based blockchain payment gateway has collaborated with an open-source e-commerce platform, PrestaShop based in Paris, France. It has joined forces with a reach of over 80,000 EU-based merchants according to the announcement made on 20th March.
Charlie Lee also tweeted about this partnership recently:
This tie-up will allow many online merchants to accept digital currencies as a payment mode. The integration of CoinGate services into the back-end of PrestaShop platform is a significant step in cryptocurrency adoption.
John Mac, a crypto enthusiast commented directing towards Charlie Lee:
“Is this another scam you’re promoting Charlie? So far, you’re 2/2 on the failures. I’m not trolling, I’ve followed your advice for quite a while now. It’s safe to say I’ve been disappointed quite a few times.”
Charlie Lee himself replied to this saying:
“How about all the ones that I promoted that are not failures? Coinbase Commerce, Aliant, GoCoin, CoinPayments, BTCPay, and many many more. This trolling is getting boring. Which bits of advice where you disappointed in? In the long run, if all your money is in crypto, no need to replace it. In the short term, merchants should give a crypto discount.”
‘It also looks like followers will Bombard such leaders even for the slightest glitches or errors and missing a partnership news for almost a month is simply not acceptable and moreover, this is a great news for Litecoin [LTC]’, says an LTC holder.
Dmitrijus Borisenka, CEO of CoinGate explained the ideology behind the partnership while stressing the importance of ensuring the new technology reaches the mass.
CoinGate and Prestashop have teamed with a promising move towards mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies to permit consumers to pay for services and goods using Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, Ripple, Dash and 50 other altcoins in e-stores that accept and use Prestashop’s e-commerce software.
Swiss Mining Space tweeted regarding this:
“We are using CoinGatecom with WHMCS for months now and our customers love it. They are paying with cryptos.”
The team has promised merchants an easy installation procedure consisting of only a few clicks. What is eye-catching and very convenient to the store owners is that irrespective of what token the customer pays, the payment will be received in a single currency of the merchant’s choice – fiat or others.
“There is an entirely new market of people who own all kinds of cryptocurrencies and are looking for ways to spend them, but the gap between customers and merchants in this sphere is still huge. It is, therefore, crucial to educate and encourage businesses to adopt a forward-thinking attitude and to overcome the prevailing misconceptions that surround cryptocurrencies.”
Carlos Hernandez, BTC and BCH holder tweeted:
“Great news. I understand we lost a lot of merchants when Bitcoin’s fees made it unusable for this. BTW, LTC has been outperforming BCH lately, but with LTC’s inflation twice as that of BCH, I don’t think that’s going to last. Anyways, see’ya at the finish line. Somebody finally realised the importance of e-commerce. :)”
